A Perfect Bloom 13 – Alex Ankarr
Big, spikey, devilish thorns, ready to lacerate and assault the unwary and over-enthusiastic. For an example of which, see Cory.
“Whoah! How did you manage that? Hey, that looks nasty. No, no, let me see, give me it here, I’m one of the first aiders here, I know what I’m doing…”
That’s Sam, and it has to be said that he’s very authoritative in a crisis. It’s pretty hot, actually. Almost before he really gets a good grip on the situation, Cory finds himself whisked out of the hothouse – rose and clippers still loosely, oh much more loosely grasped in his one good hand, now. And then they’re in a little annexe office, much lighter and brighter than the hothouse, less humid, and with Cory and Sam now up a lot closer in a tightly confined space.
“Sit down.” Sam is gentle but quite firm, with a heavy hand on Cory’s shoulder as he pushes him down onto a hard chair, and turns to shuffle through a wall-affixed shelf to find a first aid tin. “I don’t think you need to see the nurse, but I’m going to bathe the wound and put a bandage on that. You don’t want it getting infected. I suppose you’re up to date with tetanus shots and everything?”
If Cory is dizzy, then it’s… probably not blood loss or anaemia, actually. Maybe being gently bossed around by the tall fairish handsome guy he’s been fixating on for several weeks now? Sam quickly assembles a bowl of warm water and disinfectant, swabs and wipes and a whole lot of paraphernalia. Then he pulls another hard chair a lot closer so that they’re almost facing each other, set just a little at an angle.
“Give me your hand,” he says. And meekly, Cory does.
It’s not erotic, having your hand held by a tall, good-looking ex-con, as he cleans up a daft self-inflicted gouge, wipes it tenderly with gauze and antiseptic cream, and manhandles your palm, fingers, and wrist, as he shows you just the way he wants you to flex and position it, so he can most effectively apply the bandage.
